Women In Islam #01
WOMEN IN ISLAM, first class is out!
Our first class of this series aims to create a paradigm shift of how we think of women from the Quran and Sunnah. Let's broaden the "narrow" narrative of Muslim women that we've all grown up with.
In upcoming classes, we will take 1-2 specific topics/rulings pertaining to women and talk about them in depth - from all 4 maddhabs - understanding the reason, context and implementations for those rulings.
Do YOU have any suggestions for topics? Here are some the class came up with: -Abortion -Homosexuality -Segregation in mosques -Feminism in Islam -Zina vs Rape -Women's testimony -Rules of menses, post partum -Make up, perfume, plastic surgery
This is a once a month halaqa held at Southlake Masjid in Dallas - relating to women's fiqh and women's issues. The class will cover a plethora of women's topics in depth from a woman's role in society, to her rights in Islam, rules relating to her worship, and her every day actions (largely taken from Abu Shuqa's book "Tahrir al Mara fi Asri Risala"). All questions are welcome in this SAFE space for women 13 and older. The class will take place the first Saturday of every month from noon to Dhuhr at Southlake Masjid. We will upload the recordings inshaAllah. More info - https://www.facebook.com/events/1369512576510192/
